"The Emmisary" is a novel that takes place during WWII. It is the story of two brothers. Thomas, the elder – a confident and
popular fellow, is devastated when the army refuses him. Heath, a shy but talented eighteen-year-old is fearful of going overseas
but finds himself on a boat to Europe nonetheless. The book follows both characters separated in more ways than one.
